Gen Temizer acted as legal counsel to Royal Gold in connection with the restructuring of its equity ownership and economic interests in the Hod Maden gold-copper project in Türkiye.
The restructuring includes a sale of half of Royal Gold’s direct equity ownership in Artmin Madencilik, the joint venture company holding the Hod Maden project, to Lidya Mines therefore a reduction of Royal Gold’s equity interest from 30% to 15%, and the grant of a new 2.5% net smelter return royalty interest over the project. The closing remains subject to regulatory approval from the Turkish General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs (MAPEG) and other customary conditions.
Hod Maden is a high-grade underground gold-copper development project located in northeastern Türkiye.
Gen Temizer had previously advised Royal Gold on the Turkish law aspects of its acquisition of Sandstorm Gold and Horizon Copper, through which Royal Gold acquired an indirect stake in the Hod Maden project. This latest restructuring represents a further step in the development and repositioning of Royal Gold’s interests in the project.
